Craniosacral

Craniosacral Work is an evolution out of Cranial Osteopathy, a specialization of the osteopathic profession that was introduced to the world in the 1930s by an American osteopath and visionary called William Garner Sutherland. Craniosacral work has traditionally focused on the 22 bones that make up the human head, the vertebra and sacrum, and also on the brain, the central nervous system, the cerebrospinal fluid and the system of membranes inside the cranium and spinal column. In a Craniosacral session, the therapist will focus on optimizing the position, fluid movement and energy of these parts of the craniosacral system. Through optimization of position, fluid and energy, the body’s response will be improved health and vitality. Craniosacral work promotes and allows a deep relaxation of the nervous system, which in turn, facilitates the body’s innate wisdom to achieve and maintain health and balance. Clients find Craniosacral work to be helpful in many cases were other therapies have failed. Craniosacral sessions last from 60-90 minutes.
