One life, Live well!

5) Playtime!

WHEN IS THE LAST TIME YOU REALLY HAD FUN IN YOUR WORKOUT?
MAYBE IT’S TIME YOU REDISCOVERED PLAYTIME!

One of the best ways to get fit and healthy is to add some fun to your workout. Most people associate working out as boring or overwhelming. Everyone likes to have fun so why not make your workout more like playtime? The trick is to find new and exciting exercises which have a direct relationship to everyday activities and are challenging. Boot camp workouts are ideal for this because they are full of functional training exercises!
Boot camp workouts motivate you to push yourself physically and to feel emotionally invigorated at the end. They are very effective because you work your entire body by going from one exercise to another with no rest. You challenge your mind because the workout is demanding but the intensity is up to you. Therefore, it doesn’t matter what your level fitness is and everyone can participate. Most boot camps are held outside in a park, sports field or on the beach. They use a variety of equipment and the diversity of exercises keeps the boredom away while challenging your body.
Boot camps vary in style depending on the dynamics of the group but the main focus remains the same: to improve health and wellness. Usually the sessions are one hour in length and include a variety of cardiovascular, core stability, strength and flexibility exercises. All of the workouts are fun, dynamic and purposeful. The leader will demonstrate exercises, work on techniques and body mechanics, explain how to use breath and help boot campers get a better understanding of how the body moves. As the participants gain confidence in themselves, during boot camp, it helps them take control of other aspects of their life.
If you are looking for an effective way to improve your health, get motivated, and PLAY then come on out and try a boot camp workout! LifeThyme Wellness is offering a free boot camp workout on May 10th. Call to reserve your spot.
